Office for Public Engagement
The Office for Public Engagement works with academic programs and engagement units on all five campuses to build capacity to produce high quality public engagement programs and initiatives.
The M Engage website features inspiring stories and useful tools designed to maximize University-community partnerships taking place across Minnesota and beyond. The site offers easy-to-use directories of community-engaged scholars, an interactive map of engaged research and outreach activities taking place across the state, a simple "Connect with the U" access form for the public seeking to connect with University experts on partnership ideas, as well as video trainings, policy updates, and award and funding opportunities in support of University-community partnerships.
Industry Engagement at the U
As Minnesota's land grant university and premier public research institution, UMN has a long history of engaging in industry partnerships. Members of the Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) team at the University of Minnesota Foundation serve as relationship managers who coordinate systemwide partnerships.
Minnesota Trade Office
The Minnesota Trade Office provides export assistance to Minnesota businesses and serves as the Office of Protocol, ensuring that the state's interactions with foreign delegations and dignitaries are conducted with appropriate diplomatic etiquette and cultural practices.
Global Minnesota connects individuals, organizations, and communities to the world through the sharing of relevant and timely information on international issues, foreign policy, and cultural topics.
The Twin Cities are home to several official and honorary consulates, representing countries from around the world.
Many local organizations celebrate the heritage and culture of Minnesota's population.
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
UMN SDG Initiative
The systemwide initiative UMN Sustainable Development Goals Initiative seeks to support and promote transdisciplinary research, teaching, and partnerships to advance sustainable development in Minnesota, the U.S., and the globe through grants, information, and opportunities linked to SDG targets and indicators. The GPS Alliance is partnering with the Office for Public Engagement and other University centers, institutes, and research groups in supporting this initiative.
