Ester Nanyanga Kayala is one of 24 Washington Mandela Fellows who will participate in a six-week Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. She is an advocate for conservation efforts as a park warden in the Namib Naukluft National Park. 

Ibrahima Ngom is one of 24 Washington Mandela Fellows who will participate in a six-week Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. Ibrahima provided technical input on the African Union Commission's climate change and energy justice strategy.  

Naggita “Maya” Mayimuna is one of 24 Washington Mandela Fellows who will participate in a six-week Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. Maya is the founder of the nonprofit Women and Youth Platform for Action and a councilwoman for her local municipality in Uganda.

The University of Minnesota will host 24 Fellows from 15 countries in Africa for a six-week Leadership Institute, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and hosted by College of Education and Human Development in partnership with the Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
