Dongting Cai, Vishal Jamkar, and Washington Galvão have each held leadership roles in programs and activities that contribute to the University of Minnesota’s mission of fostering global competence and developing global citizens.

University of Minnesota Morris Chancellor Janet Schrunk Ericksen traveled to Sanya, China to participate in the 2024 SEP EduConnect International Symposium, hosted by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange. 

Felix Luecken worked with the city of Morris to develop an easy-to-read report that explained how solar photovoltaic systems were performing on city buildings.

Fulbright specialist award recipient Dr. Michael Zavada is thrilled to be selected for the Morton Gneiss Professorship in Environmental Sciences at the University of Minnesota Morris, which began this fall.

Rose Schwietz ’13, Mendota Heights, had heard about the Fulbright Scholarship program while she was a student at UMN Morris, but didn’t apply to the program until 2019.  

Several UMN faculty and professionals have been selected as 2023-24 Fulbright U.S. Scholars.

Ray Lagasse, assistant director of Equity, Diversity and Intercultural Programs at the University of Minnesota Morris, has received the NAFSA Region IV Distinguished Service Award.  

Before the pandemic struck, several UMN Morris students traveled to Germany as part of the Germany: Leading the Renewables Revolution course coordinated by the University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment Climate Smart Municipalities program.

Iiris Happo will be adding depth to the Education program at UMN Morris with her interest in early and pre-primary childhood education and teacher training.
